Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment of Wastewater Systems under Applying Water Demand Management Policies

Sustainability assessment of urban water and wastewater infrastructures, especially when it comes to managing existing systems, is paramount importance. Hence, this study presents a comprehensive approach investigate the sustainability real system under different demand management policies (WDMPs) in operation maintenance stage. In regard, life cycle (LCSA) used through its three main pillars, which are (1) environment, (2) economy, (3) society. Accordingly, Environmental conducted using (LCA) considering thorough inventory dataset; The economic results analyzed by cost (LCC) method; Social (SLCA) analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method, stakeholders “public local community”, “workers employees”, “treated sludge consumers” considered. Finally, prioritize scenarios, LCA, LCC, SLCA for every scenario aggregated account score AHP. applying proposed method case show that scenarios leading less reduction production more sustainable options as they represent better performance regarding social aspects. framework provides insight into integrated analysis infrastructures. addition, can be guideline exploring effects WDMPs on systems areas.
